About the Event
The concept of Counter Cultura’s latest collection, La Mala Suerte, combines symbols of superstition and sacrilegious themes, juxtaposed by classic vintage silhouettes and styles, reminiscent of Friday the 13th circa 1990’s. Born and raised in the valley and a devout Catholic household, she takes on a counter cultural approach in up-cycling valley vintage into something our parents would have never been allowed to wear, displaying the cultural gap that exists in multi-generational Chicanx families and it’s nuances. La Noche De Mala Suerte will feature a fashion show and live performances by PSNT, Dadaï, Jalepeño Papi, and Savantfossa. Also in attendance will be Puro Jugo, and Tooth Bling by Bethany. Feel free to participate in the project by following dress code: all black.
